Hi, I'm Rick. I live near Brewster NY. I paddle flatwater, whitewater, single day trips and multi-day camping trips. This is my second year paddling and in that time I've collected the following boats: Coleman Fastback inflatable, Folbot Cooper folding kayak, Pyranha I:3 223 whitewater kayak, Mad River Adventure 14 canoe, and an Aquaterra Chinook 16' sea kayak. I've paddled several rivers and lots of ponds and lakes, always looking for a new place to paddle and new people to paddle with!

Greetings from Gary Castella, I currently own two yaks a poly Necky Manitou 13, a QCC 400X and a Pack Canoe from Placid Boatworks. My paddling experience includes flat water from the Adirondacks to the Atlantic. Some of my favorite destinations are Acadia NP and the Adirondacks which offer some of the best paddling in the Northeast.

Hello everyone,
Dixie here. I own a boat for each occasion. I've been paddling for 13 years and have a Perception Swifty for rec, Perception Sonic for WW and an Impex Montauk 16' for big water of any kind; salt, big lakes or rivers. I'll paddle anything that is deep enough to float in, including flooded parking lots. WW up to class 2 so far...UPPER class 2! I live in Northwest CT where we are about an hours drive to any kind of paddling you want and only 10 min. to half an hour for most of it.

Hey Dixie! Did you ever run Satan's Kingdom in a kayak? Class III through there I think. Also I'm thinking certain parts of the Housy that I KNOW we ran together were class III-ish (but I'm far from an expert on this, it's just what I remember reading). Upper class 2, for SURE Hello everyone, WW up to class 2 so far...UPPER class 2!

My name is Ken. After years of admiring kayaks, I got my first one in August and was actually coming in from my first paddle on Candlewood Lake on Labor Day weekend when I met Rick and a group from HVPC. How fortuitous! I grew up vacationing in New Hampshire and frolicking in canoes, so I am very comfortable on (and in) the water but am hungry to develop kayaking skills. I also know little of Connecticut waters fresh or salt. For both these reasons, I am delighted to join HVPC and hope to go on lots of paddles and meet other kayakers with whom I can enjoy the sport safely.

manx10 - Seems like this web site is a ghost town. But I'd like to get out and paddle. Any chance we can do something together up your way? I live down below the airport but would happily drive. Thanks. Ken pbcibc@gmail.com
